The Rainbow Entertainment Company Incorporated
'...a brief history.'

The Rainbow Company provides an exceptional and unique experience in children's theatre and dramatic art enrichment, totally unmatched, since April of nineteen ninety one. Children not only attend performances produced by the Rainbow Company, at local schools, libraries, childcare centers, and countless birthday celebratory living rooms, family rooms, and back yards, they participate in them. The whole concept of children's theatre was altered overnight, in the spring of 1991, by taking children out of the audience, bringing them up on stage, voluntarily, and allowing them the opportunity to participate in the production as an intricate and significant performer.

After the birth of Inter-Active Children's Theatre took place, just over twenty years ago, creators Elaine Mitchell Shaw and Christopher Edward Robin raised the curtain for young thespians throughout the region. Students performed in IACT presentations most weekday mornings and on weekends, birthday celebrants partied with us right on our stage, and every October the theatre was transformed into the Spooky Spectacular Haunted House. Preschool and kindergarten students, learned basic aspects of performance in the early afternoon, and, from the late afternoon into early evening, school age children were able to study, learn and perform theatrically, as never before. In nineteen ninety seven, The Rainbow Company, once again, took the show on the road. The Rainbow Company's Dramatic Arts Enrichment programs lead to healthy modes of self-expression. Studying drama increases self-esteem and encourages students to do well in school. The study of dramatic art examines a wide level of behaviorial characteristics. It teaches students to be considerate and respectful and to care for people, their community, and their environment

FYI!
The Rainbow Entertainment Company has many performances available for a wide range of audiences.

  • When selecting a performance for your group or child's birthday celebration, remember who your target audience is. While Snow White is a great story, it might not be appropriate for children under the age of five. The evil Queen can be a little scary.
  • Sylvester And The Magic Pebble is a wonderful story for Preschool on up.
  • If your audience is between six and ten, think about selecting Treasure Island or Sword In The Stone. Both are a lot of fun for an older crowd.

Performance selection is generally up to our Client. However, after nearly a quarter century of performing for thousands of audiences, IACT Coordinators know what will and won't work with a particular group. We will never perform a show that a particular audience will not enjoy. The success of your Rainbow Company IACT performance is as important to us as it is to you.

Thank You,

Mr. Christopher
